SP Mizanur’s remarkable crime control

Tangail Correspondent :

MdMizanurRahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tangail district, has set a new benchmark in crime control through his dedicated leadership. Since joining as SP on January 4, 2025, he has revitalized the police force’s morale and efficiency with steadfast commitment.

Despite political unrest and financial constraints following August 5, 2024, police personnel across 12 police stations in Tangail continue relentless efforts. Special teams formed under SP Mizanur have conducted successful anti-drug operations, combated robbery gangs, and curbed terrorism, gaining public trust.

A total of 112 robbers, including members of cross-district gangs, have been arrested, with 29 confessing in court.

Security has been strengthened along the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway, especially tackling incidents of bus robberies and crimes against female passengers.

SP MizanurRahman stated, “Under my leadership, victims no longer face harassment at police stations, nor are they asked for bribes. We strictly enforce zero tolerance against drugs, robbery, and unethical acts.”

He added that all operations are conducted with consultation from senior officials, resulting in improved law and order in Tangail.

Range DIG of Dhaka, RezaulKarimMallick, commented, “To prevent the resurgence of fascists and maintain law and order, police forces including Tangail’s are playing crucial roles. Our police are committed to the country’s safety.

“The people of Tangail highly respect the tireless work and bravery of SP MizanurRahman, who remains dedicated to keeping Tangail crime-free and ensuring public safety.
