Barsha, Mahir’s secret plot of love

Md Abdur Rakib, JnU :

Sensational information has emerged in the murder of Jagannath University (JnU) student and Chatra Dal leader Jobayed Hossain. During the initial interrogation of the police, the accused student Shabnam Barsha said that Jobayed Hossain, a student of

Jagannath University and Chhatra Dal leader, was murdered due to the love between Barsha and her boyfriend Mahir Rahman. However, the student Barsha told the police that she was not informed anything about Jobayed’s murder.

This Monday morning, Bangshal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam informed that Barsha has acknowledged this information after the initial interrogation.

Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam said that student Barsha had a 9-year love affair with Mahir Rahman.

Mahir Rahman was a first-year student at Burhan Uddin College. While Barsha was a second-year student at Dhaka Metropolitan Women’s College. They grew up together there since childhood.

They had a long-term love affair, and they liked each other since the fourth class. But recently, their relationship has been strained.

A few days ago, their relationship broke down, and Barsha told her boyfriend Mahir Rahman that she liked Zobayed. After knowing this, in anger, Mahir Rahman along with his friend kill Jobayed.

The OC said that recently Barsha told Mahir that she likes Jobayed. But she has not told Jobayed about her choice yet.

Barsha has no love relationship with Jobayed and no messages were found between them. But based on Barsha’s words, Barsha’s boyfriend killed Jobayed in anger.

When the OC was asked how Barsha, a student, met Jobayed’s friend, Saikat, on Facebook, he said that it was revealed during interrogation that Barsha met Jobayed’s friend Saikat on Facebook.

Apart from that, they did not talk to each other through any other means, and nor did they have any other relationship. Since Saikat was Jobayed’s friend, Barsha sent Saikat a message informing him of Jobayed’s death.

The OC said that there was no sign of depression or crying in Barsha. No nervousness was found in her during interrogation. Barsha was seen to be free from worries from beginning to end. We will investigate further. More details will be announced officially later.

Jobayed Hossain was a student of the Statistics Department of the University in the 2019-20 academic year.

At the same time, he was the president of Comilla District Student Welfare and the convenor of the branch Chhatra Dal.

For the past one year, Jobayed Hossain used to teach physics, chemistry and biology to a student named Barsha at a house named Roushan Villa, 15, Nurbox Lane, Armanitola, Old Dhaka. The name of that student Barsha’s father is Giasuddin.

He was murdered on the third floor of the student’s house at approximately 4:45 pm that day. There was blood on the stairs from the ground floor to the third floor of the house. He was seen lying face down on the stairs on the third floor.

Later, the students set fire to the Bangshal Police Station demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. They also blocked the Tatibazar intersection.

The police took the student Barsha into custody around 11 pm on Sunday. After a long interrogation, the police took the student into custody.

At 11 pm that night, she was taken from her home on Nurbox Road in Armanitola in a police car under police protocol. Earlier, at 10:50 pm, the police took the body of the murder victim, Zobaid Hossain, to Midford Hospital for autopsy.

No case filed even after 14 hours: However, 14 hours have passed since the murder of JnU student Jobayed Hossain at Armanitola in Old Dhaka.

His family tried to file a case from 1 am on Sunday, but even after 8.30 am, no case has been filed for Jobayed’s murder yet. Mahir Rahman and his friend have not been arrested. However, the police say that the operation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, even after 8.30 am on Monday, the family of the murder victim Jobayed has not been successful in filing a case at Bangshal police station.

The plaintiff said that we wanted to file a case against the student Barsha, her parents and her boyfriend Md. Mahir Rahman and the boyfriend’s friend Md. Nafis case, but Bangshal police station officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam refused to accept it.

Enayet Hossain Saikat, the elder brother of the plaintiff and victim of the case, said, “When we wanted to file a case in the name of the student and her parents, the OC of Bangshal Police Station advised us not to file a case in the name of so many people.

If we file a case in the name of the girl’s parents, the case will be lighter. But we want to mention their names in the case. We want justice for my brother’s murder.”

It is noticed that the deceased Zubayed Hossain’s father, elder brother, and family members have been present at the police station for about 7 hours to file a case in this incident.

However, the family members of the deceased, including the father and elder brother, prepared the case from 1 am to 3 am, but there was a delay due to the absence of the OC at the police station. Later, when the OC arrived, the OC suggested reducing the number of accused in the case.

Regarding the delay in the case, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Bangshal Police Station Rafiqul Islam said, “I will accept those who want to file a case in the name of a few, but I have told them to discuss it with the university teachers and then take a decision.”

Today Monday October 20 ,Police sources said that Mahir’s mother herself appeared at Bangshal police station with her son on morning and handed him over to the police. However, no case has been filed in the incident yet.
