Dhaka Bank PLC recently organized a “Financial Literacy and Career Counselling Program” for students of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) to help them build smart financial habits and prepare for their future careers.
The event was held on last week at the IUB campus in Bashundhara R/A, in collaboration with the university’s Office of Career Guidance, Placement and Alumni Relations (CGP&AR) according to press release.
The interactive session was led by Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, who shared valuable insights on financial discipline, goal setting, and early career planning.
He encouraged students to align their personal ambitions with financial responsibility and long-term professional growth.
The program aimed to equip young students with essential financial knowledge, promote entrepreneurial thinking, and inspire them to become financially confident leaders of tomorrow.
Professor Daniel Wesley Lund, Pro-Vice Chancellor of IUB, attended the event as a distinguished guest and highlighted how financial literacy helps young people make responsible decisions and achieve long-term financial stability.
Several senior officials of Dhaka Bank were also present, including H.M. Mostafizur Rahman, SEVP and Head of Retail Business Division; Md. Shofiur Rahman, SVP and Deputy Head of Human Resources Division; Syed Ghulam Dastagir, SVP and Head of Communication & Branding Division; Shams Rumana Rimi, VP and Manager of Dhaka Bank Bashundhara Branch; and Mohammad Saifur Rahman, SAVP and Head of Student Banking.
Following the session, a three-day Student Banking Campaign was launched at the IUB campus.
The campaign offered students instant digital account opening and introduced them to Dhaka Bank’s youth-focused financial products and services designed to support their academic and career goals.
