Janata Bank launches ‘Taka Pay Card’ and ‘E-Credit Management System’

Janata Bank PLC has taken another major step toward digital transformation by launching two new initiatives the NFC-enabled “Taka Pay Card” and the “E-Credit Management System.”

The move aims to modernise customer services, simplify loan disbursement, and strengthen the bank’s digital capabilities.

The initiatives were launched on this week as part of “Tarunner Utsab (Youth Festival) 2025”, a programme celebrating innovation and youth engagement in banking,according to press release.

Special Assistant to Chief Adviser Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated the bank’s Customer Service Fortnight along with the Taka Pay Card.

The new card, powered by NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, allows customers to make secure, contactless payments quickly and conveniently at retail outlets and ATMs.

Nazma Mobarek, Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division under the Finance Ministry, attended as the special guest and officially launched the E-Credit Management System.

The digital platform will streamline the entire loan process—from application to approval and disbursement making it faster, more transparent, and accessible for customers and businesses.

Janata Bank Chairman Md. Fazlur Rahman presided over the event, saying the bank is “committed to building a smart and customer-friendly banking ecosystem” aligned with the government’s vision for a ‘Smart Bangladesh.’

Senior executives of the bank, officials from the Bangladesh Bank, and representatives of various financial institutions were also present at the ceremony.

The bank plans to gradually expand these digital services nationwide, ensuring that customers in both urban and rural areas can benefit from faster, safer, and more efficient banking solutions.
