City Desk:
Today October 20, is International Chef’s Day. The new generation of the country now knows famous chefs from home and abroad and wants to become chefs themselves. In keeping with the times, the culinary arts have also expanded considerably in our country.
Along with tourism, the restaurant business has also expanded. Cuisine and cooking are two things. Cuisine is about everything from the taste of the food to the presentation. And cooking is done only for the purpose of eating. There was a time when cooking was just a household affair, but in the modern world, the culinary industry is a very strong sector, where chefs are now stars. Ali Ajom, a trainer at Barista Training Bangladesh, has been working in the culinary industry for a long time and is training young people in this profession. Ali Ajom said, “I have 25 years of experience in this industry.” I was a chef before I started working with coffee.
I mainly work with multi-cuisine food. But I have been working with coffee for 12 years. Earlier, there was not much coffee culture in Bangladesh. 15 years ago, if you wanted to have a cappuccino, you had to go to a five-star hotel. Now, cappuccino is made on the street. Coffee culture is constantly growing in our country. Along with this, a separate market is also being created. 20 students are graduating from Barista Training Bangladesh every month. Our country’s children who are going to study abroad are getting job opportunities by taking courses and developing skills in a short period of time. There are many coffee shops abroad, so it is easier to get a job if you have barista training. So there is interest in this among the new generation”.
He added that chefs don’t usually work with coffee, they work with the kitchen. I have been working with coffee for about 12 years. When I came to learn, I was a fairly well-known chef in Bangladesh. I have trained as a barista in Malaysia and Nepal and studied coffee in Singapore.
Baristas don’t have that much training outside the country. I’ve been doing coffee training in every country I’ve been to. This is not in any other coffee trainer.
Again, I work with a multinational company. I am a barista trainer at Nestle Bangladesh. I also have my own academy. Some of my coffee brands are made by me. Those who have tasted my coffee have become fans of my coffee. These people like me and call me Coffee King”.
