Residents hold human chain against robbery, terrorism

On Friday evening, a human chain is held at Pirojpur Mor, Sonamasjid, Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj, protesting against terrorism, robbery, extortion, and snatching.

Hundreds of local residents from Pirojpur, Baliyadighi, Salampur, and Sonapur organize the human chain, alleging that under the direct support of SI Kalam, robberies in the area have increased.

Several hundred men and women, including Motaleb Ali, Palash Mia Babul, and Yusuf Ali, participate in the hours-long human chain.

Speakers allege that a gang led by Raihan, Yusuf, Mosharraf, Javed, and Abdullah, under the protection of Lutful’s son SI Kalam from Sonapur village, has been terrorizing the area for a long time through robbery, extortion, and snatching.

They further state that ordinary people are constantly being victimized by this gang.

Despite cases being filed against them, law enforcement authorities take no action due to mysterious reasons.

The speakers demand that these criminals be arrested quickly, brought under the law, and innocent people be protected.

At the human chain, speakers strongly urge the government to restore peace and order in the area, punish the culprits severely, and take action against corrupt officers within the police force.

Regarding the matter, SI Kamal denies all allegations, stating that legal action has been taken because of the theft of cows from his house, and he did not assist in any wrongdoing.
