EWU hosts Lit-Carnival

The Department of English at East West University (EWU) vibrantly hosted its largest annual inter-university literary competition, Foodi Presents EWU Lit-Carnival 2025, on Thursday, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of artistic and academic creativity.

The day-long literary and cultural fiesta attracted over 200 participants and visitors from 22 public and private universities across Bangladesh.

The Carnival featured an exciting and diverse lineup of segments, all designed to inspire literary enthusiasm and creative collaboration. Key competitions included Spot Poetry and Recitation, Comic-Con and Cosplay, Poster Presentation, Drama, and Masquerade. Beyond the contests, attendees enjoyed a unique literature-themed food court and a popular used-book swap, enhancing the overall cultural experience, says a press release.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, EWU. Ms. Luva Nahid Choudhury, Director General of Bengal Foundation, attended as the Chief Guest, providing insightful words and officially announcing the opening of the stalls at the university courtyard.

A major highlight of the day was the Spot Poetry competition, judged by distinguished literary figures, including Ms. Munize Manzur, Member, Board of Trustees, EWU, and Principal, Sunbeams School, and Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Advisor of the English Department, and a former Pro Vice Chancellor of EWU.The colorful and impactful event concluded in the evening with a grand award ceremony, where Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University, delivered the concluding remarks as the Special Guest.
