DUCSU, Jagannath Hall mark Oct tragedy through events

Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Jagannath Hall Students’ Parliament jointly organised a day-long programme to commemorate the October tragedy, titled ‘Moron Sagor Pore Tomra Amor Tomader Smori’. The event honored the memory of numerous students, staff, and guests who lost their lives in the tragic incident at Jagannath Hall in 1985, says a press release.

The programme held at Jagannath Hall featured an art camp, team-based debates, and quiz competitions.

Various artworks related to the October tragedy were exhibited, and a voluntary blood donation group, Badhan, conducted blood group testing for students.

The day concluded with an award ceremony at 7:30 PM. Speaking as the chief guest, DUCSU’s Literature and Cultural Secretary expressed that such extensive literary and cultural events centered on the October tragedy are rare.
