Prof Shahadat in world’s top 2pc scientists

Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, a prominent computer scientist in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Chittagong, has once again been acknowledged as one of the world’s top 2percent most influential scientists, according to Stanford University’s global ranking database.

This marks the fourth consecutive year-following his inclusion in 2022, 2023, and 2024-that Professor Hossain has earned this prestigious recognition, bringing rare distinction and pride to Bangladesh’s academic community.

With a prolific academic career, Professor Hossain has authored and co-authored more than 300 research articles published in leading international journals, along with contributing forewords to several renowned books. His exceptional research impact has also been acknowledged in the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index, where he was consistently ranked as a top global researcher from 2021 to 2024. In addition to his scholarly achievements, Professor Hossain is a recipient of some of the world’s most prestigious fellowships, including the Fulbright Fellowship (USA), the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship (European Commission), the Commonwealth Scholarship, and the World Bank Scholarship.

Currently, he is serving as a Visiting Professor at several leading universities across Europe and the United States, continuing to strengthen his international academic footprint and contribute to global research collaboration.
This latest recognition by Stanford University once again reaffirms Professor Hossain’s position as one of the most distinguished Bangladeshi scholars on the world stage.
