Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology to enhance academic collaboration and joint research on 26 September, 2025.
The agreement was signed on September 26, with Professor Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman, Registrar (In Charge) of JKKNIU, signing on behalf of the university, and Professor Dr. Qiang Lin, Deputy Director General, representing the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, said press release.
The signing ceremony is attended by JKKNIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique, and Professor Dr. Ashraf Ali Seddique, Environmental Science. Representing the Chinese institution were Professor Qiang Lin, Professor Jianwei Chi, and Professor Chuanxio Luo.
University officials hailed the agreement as a significant step towards fostering international cooperation and advancing knowledge sharing between Bangladesh and China.
The MoU is expected to accelerate higher education and research activities, providing opportunities for researchers to pursue PhD and Master’s programs under this collaboration.
