Dhaka Abahani Limited were held by Rahmatganj MFS in their first match of the Bangladesh Football League (BFL), the professional football competition of the country at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday. Dhaka Abahani played a goalless draw with Rahmantganj MFS.
Arafat Hossain of Rahmantganj MFS was showed red card for his unplayable attitude in the 39th minute of the play.
But the Dhaka giants failed to earn that opportunity.
Dhaka Abahani’s attacking side is very stronger as their attacking side is consists of Souleymane Diabate, Shekh Morsalin and Al-Amin. But they failed to found the net and the Yellow-Sky Blue out-fit left the ground with a frustrated note.
After Arafat was showed red card. Dhaka Abahani gave pressure but Rahmatganj goalie Mamun Alif with the help of Solomon King and others resisted all the attacks of Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Souleymane Diabate came close to score for several times but this Malian striker failed to break the dead-lock. Shekh Morsalin and striker Al-Amin could make notable moves but they failed to score.
10-man Rahmantganj MFS proved that they had the ability to hold Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Meanwhile, the day’s other match between Arambagh Krira Sangha and Fakirerpool Youngmens Club ended in a 1-1 draw at the Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj.
After a barren first half, Arambagh Krira Sangha’s Nigerian forward Yaya John put his team ahmead in the 59th minute of the play.
Fakirerpool’s Egyptian recruit Mostafa Kahraba equalised the margin in the injury time of the second half.
