South Point School and College (SPSC), Baridhara, has recently introduced its International English Medium Section following the British curriculum. Launched in the current academic year, the initiative has already generated a highly positive response. Starting from Playgroup up to Standard Five, classes have begun with 120 students enrolling in just the first quarter. Lessons, designed in line with the Cambridge curriculum, are conducted by skilled teachers who emphasise creativity through brainstorming-oriented teaching and assessment methods.
School authorities stated that the section will be gradually expanded to include ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels, with students from Grade Six onward preparing for Cambridge Checkpoint examinations.
Alongside academic pursuits, students at the Baridhara campus are also making their mark in co-curricular activities. Remarkably, one student from this campus emerged as the champion in the Aloha International Children’s Brain Development Competition 2025, further boosting parents’ trust in the institution. “Our mission is not to turn students into rote learners, but to nurture them through enjoyable, reality-based, and stress-free education, so they can grow into creative, humane individuals, achieve outstanding results, and develop in a well-rounded manner,” said Air Commodore (Retd.) Kazi Abdul Moin, Principal of South Point School and College.
He also highlighted that sports, cultural activities, and other co-curricular engagements are vital for shaping confident and ideal citizens.
The Baridhara campus has also celebrated impressive success in the recently published SSC Examination 2025. Among 199 candidates, all passed, achieving a 100 percent success rate-140 secured GPA-5, 57 achieved Grade ‘A’, and 2 obtained A-minus. Additionally, five students from the campus received government scholarships this year.
These accomplishments are part of a long-standing record. In the last HSC examinations, 100 out of 134 students from Baridhara achieved GPA-5, while the rest scored above GPA 4.50 with Grade ‘A’. In the science group, all 36 students attained GPA-5, and in the English version science section, 95 out of 106 secured GPA-5.
The Baridhara campus is equipped with four modern buildings featuring escalators and multiple elevators for easy access. To ensure uninterrupted operation, a powerful generator system is in place. Facilities include a state-of-the-art language lab, an ICT lab with high-speed internet, a modern library, advanced science laboratories, a hygienic cafeteria, and fully air-conditioned smart classrooms. The school is also working on digital content development for textbooks.
