ACC conducts raid at Sylhet Osmani Hospital

Sylhet Bureau :

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted a surprise raid at the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, the largest medical institution in Sylhet.
The raid began at 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

The raid was led by Jewel Majumder, Assistant Director of the ACC Sylhet Integrated Office. The team formed under his leadership visited various wards, pathology departments, food and washrooms allocated for patients in the hospital. In addition, various official documents were also summoned and examined.

ACC officials said that various complaints have been coming for a long time about the quality of service at Osmani Hospital. This raid is being conducted based on the complaints of patients and to ensure transparency in healthcare.

An average of more than 1,500 patients come to this 500-bed hospital every day for treatment. Although it is very important to maintain order and discipline in such a large institution, allegations of various irregularities and mismanagement are regularly being raised.

Many patients and relatives of the hospital have welcomed the ACC operation. They believe that it will send a strong message against corruption and will have a positive impact on improving the quality of healthcare.
