The venerable Buddhist monk Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera was felicitated. He was felicitated on the occasion of receiving the ‘Mother Teresa Golden Award-2025’ for his special contribution to the education and social reform, says a press release. On 2 September 2025, this function was organized by Banophool adibashi green heart college and Banophool adibashi foundation Trust.
The function organized at the Banophool adibashi green heart college campus was presided over by the Rector of the college Professor Tarun Kanti Barua. Venerable Buddhist monk Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera was Present as felicitated guest at the event. Principal of the college Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Dhar, Teacher representative of the governing body Assistant Professor Md. Zakidul Islam, Lecturer Mustakiya Mahmuda Parvin discussed various aspects of the colorful life of this great Buddhist monk.
It is worth mentioning that, Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera came to the Parbatya Chattal Bouddha Anath Ashram as a sheltered orphan in 1966. He took charge as the general secretary of this ashram in 1974. Since then, along with five like-minded Buddhist monks, he has established renowned educational institutions like the Anath Ashram Abashik High School, DharModoy Pali College, Rangapani Milan Vihara.
