Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former US President Donald Trump “deserve a genocide award,” says Israeli columnist Gideon Levy.
He argues that outside Israel, no one bears more responsibility for the bloodshed in Gaza than Donald Trump.
In a column for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Levy writes that Trump can end the war with just a single phone call but chooses not to.
He adds that Trump not only fails to act but also continues to provide Israel with funding, weapons, and political support as though nothing is happening.
According to Levy, if Netanyahu and Trump deserve any award, it is one that, fortunately, has not yet been established the “Genocide Award.”
For nearly two years, Israel carries out what many describe as genocide in Gaza. The long-standing blockade causes a severe food crisis, with defenceless Palestinians dying of hunger every day and children crying out for food.
On Sunday morning local time, Israeli forces kill another 13 Palestinians in Gaza. A day earlier, 77 Palestinians lose their lives in Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave, including 11 who are waiting for aid.
