Bangladesh Women’s team win bronze in Kabaddi

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team won bronze medal in Kabaddi Competition of the Asian Youth Games at Isa Sports City in Bahrain on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team defeated Sri Lanka Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team by 47-40 points in a hard-fought place-deciding match.

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team led the first half by 25-18 points.

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team and Sri Lanka Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team gained equal points (22) points in the second half.

But by virtue of better performance in the first half, Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team clinched the bronze medal.

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team failed to earn any medal in the previous two meets of the Asian Youth Games. But this time Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team gained medal.

A total of five countries took part in the Women’s Kabaddi Competition of the Asian Youth Games.

They are: Iran, India, Thailand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka lost to Iran, India and Thailand.

Thus, the winners of the match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka became the fourth-place deciding match and Bangladesh bagged the bronze medal defeating Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Youth (Women’s) Kabaddi team created history as they earned bronze medal in the Kabaddi Competition of the Youth Asian Games.

A total of seven teams are taking part in the Men’s Kabaddi Competition of the Asian Youth Games. Bangladesh already beat Sri Lanka and Iran. So, Bangladesh Youth (Men’s) Kabaddi team have every chance to earn medal.

The Asian Youth Games will be formally inaugurated today. Bangladesh are taking part in the 13 disciplines out of 25 disciplines.
