Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to hold a meeting with a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday (today) as part of his ongoing series of political dialogues with major parties, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed on Tuesday.
The upcoming discussion follows the Chief Adviser’s Tuesday’s meeting with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), during which the BNP delegation, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, urged the interim administration to function in the spirit of a caretaker government to ensure a free, fair, and participatory national election.
Over the past week, Professor Yunus has been engaging in consecutive dialogues with various political parties to build consensus on the electoral framework and to foster an environment conducive to an inclusive and credible national poll. The meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami is expected to continue that process of consultation and confidence-building among the country’s key political stakeholders.
