Entertainment Report :
Chanchal Chowdhury has started shooting for his latest Tollywood venture ‘Shekor’, directed by noted filmmaker Bratya Basu.
The film went on floors recently, and Chanchal joined the shoot on Monday in Birbhum, Kolkata.
Film ‘Shekor’ is inspired by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay’s short stories ‘Drabmoyeer Kashibash’ and ‘Dadu’. The story centres on the lives of elderly men and women from two rural communities.
Actor Loknath Dey portrays the elderly man, while Seema Biswas plays the elderly woman. Chanchal takes on the role of Loknath’s son, with Poulami Basu appearing as his wife.
Speaking to the Indian media, Chanchal shared that the film beautifully captures a father-son relationship that deeply resonates with him.
He said, “My character’s father reminds me a lot of my own father because he suffers from dementia – he forgets everything within moments.
My father, too, struggled with this illness in the later years of his life. Another reason I wanted to do this film is Bratya Da (Bratya Basu).
Working with him feels very comforting, and that deeply draws me in.” The cast of ‘Shekor’ also includes Ambarish Bhattacharya, Riddhi Sen, Angana Roy, Anasuya Majumdar, Anujay Chattopadhyay, and Narayan Goswami.
The film is produced by Firdausul Hasan and is expected to hit theatres in March next year.
