Typhoid vaccination campaign begins

The national “Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025 has been launches for the first time in Bangladesh.

The government aims to vaccinate about 50 million children aged nine months to 15 years.

In Kishoreganj, ‘ aim of providing Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) free of cost to over 956,774 children and adolescents, boys and girls in 13 upazils,and 8 municipalities in the district.

The Civil Surgeon’s (CS’s) Office sources said the children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years are being administered one dose of the Typhoid Vaccine for each.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), also Joint Secretary of Kishoreganj, Fouzia Khan formally inaugurating the programme at a vaccination center in the town on Sunday morning, while Civil Surgeon (CS) dr Ovijeet Sharma in the chair.

Police Super Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury BPM,as special guest, Sadar UNO Kamrul Hasan Maruf, UHFPO dr. Nazmul Karim were also present.

CS dr. Ovijeet Sharma said, Typhoid is a disease that can be completely controlled Through awareness, and vaccination.
