Shibir leader Saiful’s home set on fire

A group of miscreants set fire to the house of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir leader Mohammad Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, son of Master Siddiqur Rahman Bhuiyan of Shamsher Uddin Bhuiyan’s house in Sadakpur village of Pir Jatrapur union in Burichang upazila of Cumilla district. On Monday, September 29, at 1.30 am, the miscreants set fire to the house of Shibir leader Saiful.

On the way home from worship, some people saw the fire and shouted. Saiful’s brother Emdadul Haque woke up and saw his brother Saiful’s house burning in flames. When Emdadul came out of the house and shouted, people from the surrounding houses ran and tried to put out the fire with buckets and pitchers.

By then, most of the house was engulfed in flames. Emdadul Haque said that my brother Saiful has been involved in a political party for a long time, Saiful had been doing Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir for a long time, someone could have set fire to my brother due to political vendetta. My brother has suffered extensive damage due to the house being burnt down.

I strongly demand from the administration and the countrymen to hold the guilty accountable and bring them to justice after a proper investigation. The owner of the house, Saiful Islam, was out of the country on personal business. He broke down in tears after receiving a call from his brothers about the house being burnt down and informed the locals about this matter.

He said that he was not at home.The miscreants set my house on fire while I was staying, I demand fair justice from the locals, and I draw the attention of the administration to immediately accept my case, identify the culprits through proper investigation and bring them to justice.
Witnesses Kabir Hossain, Shimul Ahmed, Abu Zaher, Abdul Hakim, Azadul Islam and many others from the neighboring houses came to put out the fire, they said that when we were woken up late at night by the screams of Emdadul Haque and the people around who came to put out the fire, we ran and saw that the house of Shibir leader Saiful was on fire, we immediately jumped in and helped put out the fire.
