James and Pakistan’s Ali Azmat to share stage

Entertainment Report :

Last week, Nagar Baul James’ concert in Meherpur was canceled due to lack of permission from the local administration. This sparked a storm of criticism on social media. Amidst this
discussion, news of James’ new concert came to light. Nagar Baul James will sing at a concert organised at the United Convention Centre in Kurmitola, Dhaka, on November 14, said a press release.

The concert is being organised by Asen Buzz. It was previously announced that Ali Azmat, a musician from the Pakistani band Junoon, will sing at the concert. Last Saturday night, the
organisers announced that Nagar Baul James will perform
on the same stage with Ali Azmat on November 14.

The first album of Sufi band Junoon, ‘Junoon’, was released in 1991. Since then, the band has released a total of 9 albums,
including ‘Talash’, ‘Inqilab’, and ‘Azadi’. Ali Azmat has been
with Junoon since the beginning. Along with the band,
he has also sung solo in Bollywood.

This is Ali Azmat’s third time coming to Bangladesh.
However, this is the first time he is coming solo. Ali Azmat
last performed at the Dhaka International Folk Fest in 2019.
Ali Azmat was scheduled to perform at a concert held at the United Convention in Dhaka on May 2 this year. The concert, titled ‘Ali Azmat (The Voice of Junoon) Live in Dhaka’, was organised
by Asen Buzz. But in the end, the concert could not be held.

Almost five months after that incident, Ali Azmat is coming to Bangladesh to sing at a concert organized by the same organiser.
Advance ticket sales for the concert titled ‘Ali Azmat Voice of Junoon and Nagar Baul Gems Live in Dhaka’ have already
started on the online ticketing platform Get Set Rock website.
