Rangpur beat Dhaka Metro by three wickets

Rangpur Division beat Dhaka Metro by three wickets in their match of the NCL T20 at the Sylhet Academy Ground on Monday.

Chasing Dhaka Metro’s fragile total of 90 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Rangpur Division coasted home making 93 for the loss of seven wickets when they had 54 balls to spare.

Jahid Javed of Rangpur Division was his team’s highest scorer. He hit 26 from 22 deliveries featuring three fours. Earlier, Jahid Javed picked up two wickets for eight runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Akbar Ali, Abdullah Al Mamun and Nesir Hossain added 17, 16 and 11 runs respectively to the Rangpur total.

Rakibul Hasan bagged two wickets instead of 31 runs, while Aminul Islam Biplob, Shodidul Islam, Maruf Mridha, Abu Hider and Aich Mollah took one wicket each for five, six, 11, 13 and 25 runs respectively.
Opener Mahfijul Islam Robin of Dhaka Metro was the only batter, who made a notable score. He scored 20 from 23 balls including three fours.
Abu Hasim, Rafiuzzaman Rafi grabbed two wickets instead of 17 and 18 runs respectively.
Besides, Abdul Gaffar took one wicket for nine runs.

In the day’s other match between Barishal Division and Rajshahi Division was abandoned due to heavy rain at the same venue.
Barishal piled up a fighting total of 140 for the loss of five wickets in 18 overs (two overs were curtailed due to inclement weather.

Iftakhar Hossain notched up a superb 58. His 48-ball innings was laced with three fours and a six.
Fazle Mahmud Rabbi remained unbeaten with 39 runs. His 22-ball knock was laced with four fours and a sixer.

Sohag Gazi made 21 from 13 balls including four fours.
Mohor Sheikh bagged two wickets in the space of 30 runs, while SM Meherob Hasan, Nihad Uz Zaman and Sabbir Hosan took one wicket each conceding 19, 22 and 29 runs respectively.
Rajshahi Division scored 17 runs for the loss of one wicket in 1.5 over before the rain washed out the game.
Mehedi Hasan took one wicket for eight runs.
