BRAC Bank hosts workshop on seamless Trade for shipping agents in Ctg

BRAC Bank, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Shipping Agents Association (BSAA), organized a workshop in Chattogram aimed at promoting seamless trade and payment solutions for the shipping industry.

Titled “Seamless Trade & Payment Solutions: Regulatory Compliance and Central Bank Reporting for Shipping Agents,” the workshop underscored the crucial role of shipping agents in facilitating Bangladesh’s international trade. Senior officials discussed the importance of automation, efficient payment systems, regulatory compliance, and transparent reporting to foster sustainable practices in the sector, says a press release.

Md. Mokbul Hossain, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as the Chief Guest, held at Hotel Agrabad, Chattogram, on September 17, 2025. Also present were Arifuzzaman, Director, and Monirul Haider, Additional Director, from Bangladesh Bank’s Chattogram Office.

From the BSAA, industry leaders including Amirul Huq, Owner of Seacom Shipping, and Khairul Alam Shujan, along with other Directors and members, joined the program. BRAC Bank was represented by Kayesh Chowdhury, Head of Regional Corporate; AKM Faisal Halim, Head of Transaction Banking; and Taher Mridha, Head of Account Services.
