Youth shot dead while sleeping

A youth named Tanvir Hasan Shuvo (28) was shot dead by miscreants near Shahi Jame Mosque in Maheshwarpasha Paschim Para ( (West Para) under Daulatpur police station in Khulna city. Shuvo is the eldest son of Abul Bashar of the same area.

According to local sources, Shuvo was sleeping on the floor bed of his house at around 2:30 am/ 3:45 am on Tuesday, September 30.

His eight-year-old younger brother Sayem and his mother were sleeping on the floor next to him in the same room. The miscreants shot him through the window on the north side of the house.

While Contacted, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station, in this regard, he told The New Nation reporter through Cell phone that Tanvir fell asleep playing games in his room at night. Later, at around 3:30 am, his family members went to his room after hearing a noise.

His family members immediately fund three bullet shells. Later, when he was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment at around 4 am, the doctor on duty said that he had been shot and advised him to be taken to Dhaka.

After that, Shuvo died at Khulna Medical College Hospital at around 7:30 am on Wednesday (October 1) when he was taken to Khulna City Medical College.
