SJIB holds 89th shari’ah supervisory committee meeting

The 89th meeting of the Shari’ah Supervisory Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC was held at the bank’s corporate head office. The session was presided over by Hazrat Maulana Mufti Shahed Rahmani, Chairman of the Committee.

The meeting discussed various matters relating to Shari’ah compliance in overall Islamic banking operations, according to a press release.

Among those present were committee members Maulana Muhammad Sadequl Islam, Dr. Mufti Yousuf Sultan, and Maulana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah. Also in attendance were A.K. Azad, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Vice-Chairmen Mohammed Younus and Mohiuddin Ahmed; directors Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Md. Abdul Barek, Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, Md. Moshiur Rahman Chamak, Fakir Mashrikuzzaman, and Fakir Maniruzzaman; as well as independent directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Md. Reazul Karim.

The Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Company Secretary Md. Abul Bashar, Chief Financial Officer Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA, and Head of Shari’ah Secretariat Maulana Md. Farid Uddin also attended.

The meeting began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and concluded with Doa and Munajat, including special prayers for late directors and committee members, and wishing continued prosperity of the bank.
