Bangladesh Bank and Mercantile Bank PLC have jointly launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Training Program in Narayanganj, aiming to nurture new entrepreneurs.
The program, financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness & Innovation Program (SICIP), kicked off on Monday at the Technical Training Centre in Jalkuri, says a press release.
Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Project Director, attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. The event was chaired by Farid Uddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, SVP and Head of Mercantile Bank’s Narayanganj Branch.
Also present were Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director of SMSPD; Shah Md. Sohel Khurshid, CCO & SEVP of the bank; and Md. Mostahidur Reza Chowdhury, VP & Head of SME Division.
A total of 25 aspiring entrepreneurs have enrolled in the training program, which will focus on equipping them with practical skills and knowledge for sustainable business ventures.
