287 OMS dealers appointed through open lottery

A total of 287 Open Market Sale (OMS) dealers have been appointed from the selected aspirants for the respective centers under two city corporations in the capital.

The appointment has been completed through transparent and open lottery in presence of more than thousands of applicants at the auditorium of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on Monday as part of Dhaka Rationing under the Department of Food.

Appointment Committee President and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury administered the lottery, reports BSS.

Member Secretary of the committee Jahangir Alam along with its other members was present during this time.

The selected ones from the lottery will be appointed finally as the OMS dealers.
A total of 2,542 applications have been submitted against 2,905 forms, which were sold earlier. After the review, 1,756 applications were declared as valid.
Later, 287 were selected as the OMS dealers through the lottery from those valid applications.
