Khulna observes World Hydrophobia Day

With the theme “To eliminate rabies, let’s work together”, World Hydrophobia Day was celebrated in Khulna on Sunday, September 28.

The day began with a colorful procession organized by the Khulna Divisional Livestock Department at 10 am.

A discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the Divisional Livestock Department at 10:30 am.

Khulna Additional Divisional Commissioner Abu Shahed Md. ManjurAlam was the chief guest at the meeting.

The event was presided over by Khulna Divisional Livestock Department Director Dr. Md. GolamHaider and was attended by Khulna Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. MujiburRahman, Divisional Livestock Department Public Health Deputy Director Dr. ABM ZakirHossain, District Artificial Insemination Center Deputy Director Dr. Swapan Kumar Roy and Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Chief Waste Management Officer and Executive Magistrate Kohinoor Jahan.District Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Shariful Islam delivered the welcome speech.

Dr. Peru GopalBiswas presented the paper. Presented by Veterinary Surgeon Dr. SumanaTanjumPayel, among others, Khulna Veterinary Officer Dr. Sanjay Biswas, Dumuria Livestock Officer Md. Ashraful Islam Kabir, Dacop’s Dr. Bankim Kumar Halder, ACME’s Dr. KM JasimUddin, etc.

The speakers at the meeting said that rabies is a dangerous disease. Due to lack of awareness, the risk of death from this disease is increasing day by day.

Later, rabies vaccination was given to pet dogs and cats at the District Livestock Office at Power House intersection.
