World Tourism Day observed

The World Tourism Day was observed in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district with various arrangements on September 27, 2025 (Saturday) aiming to raise awareness among the people about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values.

“Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, highlights tourism’s transformative potential as an agent of positive change.

Marking the day, Creative Association Historical Society and Library, ACECC Association, and Creative Association chalked out various programmes, including rally and discussion meetings.

The programme was held at Kalipur Bijoykanto Lahiry Choudhury Zamidar Bari (a writer and collector of medieval folklore Chandra Kumar De got a job at the zamindari of this palace) premises in the town of Gouripur around 11 am for emphasizing the need of upgrading Gouripur upazila into a tourism attraction.
