After earning a fighting four-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in their first match of ‘Super Four’ on Saturday night, Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das said, ” I think Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed’s 19th and 20th overs respectively was the turning point of the match against Sri Lanka. Mustafiz restricted Sri Lanka to score fewer runs in the 19th over and Taskin checked the Islanders to earn less runs in the 20th over. At one stage, it seemed that Sri Lanka would score 190+ runs. But Mustafiz and Taskin helped Bangladesh to restrict Sri Lanka to 168.”
Litton praised Saif Hassan for his batting performance. Litton said, ” I know Saif Hassan has the capability to play match-winning innings. When we have included Saif Hassan in the Bangladesh T20I squad for Asia Cup, it is known to us that he will be a good batter in the Asian soil. Specially at the venues of the United Arab Emirates. I know his ability. I also know his batting performance. So, he batted easily.”
Saif Hassan notched up a gritty 45-ball 61 and Towhid Hridoy hit a superb 58 off 37 balls. Saif Hassan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
The skipper of Bangladesh said, ” We everybody know how dangerous is Mustafiz for opponents. The wickets acted for batting.” Mustafizur Rahman captured three wickets for 20 runs. Bangladesh will face off favourites India in their second “Super Four’ match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the UAE on Wednesday.
Litton Das is very conscious about that match.
” As we chased tremendously Sri Lanka’s massive total on Saturday night, We are highly motivated for the next match. New day and new opponent. We have to play our best cricket,” he added.
