Artistes protest against Bhuifore Award ceremonies

Entertainment Report :

Although the number of dramas and movies produced has decreased in recent times, the number of award ceremonies has increased.

Various award shows are often organised anonymously. Awards are being given to whomever they want without paying attention to the rules.

Those who receive awards often do not know why they are being awarded. Even when asked, they are unable to give a good answer.

The quality of most awards has been questioned for a long time.
Recently, there has been a controversy over the attire of many participants in these events.

There is a storm of criticism in the cultural circles including social media about the attire of the alleged models and actresses.

Many artistes have protested against such extravagant award ceremonies and eye-catching attire.

Misha Sawdagor, President of the Film Artistes’ Association, said, “We don’t know why these so-called award ceremonies are held, who holds them. Movies are not being made, artistes are losing their minds.

There are so many award ceremonies! If artistes go to these so-called ceremonies without informing the association and the image of the Artistes’ Association is tarnished, then we will not take any responsibility.”

Saying that all artistes will be warned, Misha said, “You have to first be sure about the quality of the event you are going to.

We, the Artistes’ Association, will warn all artistes. Not to mention another thing, as artistes, we do not support the kind of dress-up and get-up that many people wear to these events.

We need to know how much we should do according to our culture. Even if we work in showbiz, we have to have a sense of taste in our clothes.”

Actress Purnima said that she often gets invited to such events. However, she claims that she does not know the people who are hosting the events and those who are receiving the awards.

Purnima said, “Sometimes I am also asked to receive awards from such events. I ask, for what work will I be awarded? They say, just like that.

Why would they give awards just like that? Many people also ask me to present these events. When I ask the names of those who are receiving awards, it turns out that I do not know any of them.

I do not know why they are receiving them or for what work they are receiving awards. There is no one famous or familiar. So when I am invited, I do not go to those events.”

A few days ago, film actor Omar Sani made explosive comments about award ceremonies.

He wrote on Facebook, “Who among you becomes a guest at such events in exchange for Tk 30,000, Tk 50,000 or Tk 1 lakh to receive awards.

These events are held for the greed of such money. The population in the country is high, and there are also more cheaters and cheaters.”

Omar Sani has commented on such award ceremonies many times before. A few months ago, Sani wrote, “On what basis are you giving awards and on what basis are you accepting awards, have you asked yourself? A showdown has begun. Just a showdown.”

Meanwhile, actress Rumana Islam Mukti, an executive member of the Artistes’ Association, shared a picture of a model participating in an award ceremony and wrote on Facebook about her outfit, “I don’t know why they are given awards.

I don’t even want to know. All I know is this; this is the state of the award program.

I am definitely drawing the attention of everyone from all walks of life, please come forward to protect society and the environment.”

Mukti further said, “Many artistes bring their families to award ceremonies. Senior artistes stay there. So, the atmosphere there is an important issue.

One should not go to award ceremonies in such attire that it spoils the atmosphere. And awards should also be given with understanding. Those who are deserving need to be considered.”
