Tarique Rahman urges party activists to stay beside people

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today called upon the leaders and activists to stay beside people and keep the people by their side.

“People are the source of strength of BNP. We must stand by the people and keep the people by our side. This must be ensured at any cost,” he said while addressing virtually as the chief guest the triennial council of the Kishoreganj District unit of BNP at the Old Stadium in the town. Tarique Rahman urged the party leaders and activists to remain united in the party’s decisions at any cost. No one will be allowed to use the party for personal gain, he added.

“BNP is a big family. The policymakers are the guardians of this family. When they take any decision, everyone must follow it and implement it united way,” he said.He urged to be careful that no one can use the party’s name to achieve personal gain or create a negative impression among the people.

Tarique Rahman also expressed hope that if the leaders and activists can remain united until next February, it will be possible to ensure a victory in the next general election. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the council which was organized after a long 9 years.

Leaders and activists gathered at the stadium from different upazilas of the district in processions since morning. The conference began amidst festive atmosphere with the presence of thousands of worker. District BNP President Md. Shariful Alam presided over the programme while General Secretary Md. Mazharul Islam moderated it.

Chairperson’s Advisor Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam was the special guest and Joint Secretary General Habib Un-Nabi Khan Sohel spoke as the main speaker.
