Tigers will face off Afghanistan in their do-or-die Group-B match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup today at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates. Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das will lead his squad, while Captain of Afghanistan Cricket team Rashid Khan will lead his outfit.
The game will start at 8:30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel Nagorik TV and International satellite sports channel Sony Sports will telecast the match live.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start in their Asia Cup campaign after defeating Hong Kong by seven wickets in their first Group-B match at the same venue on September 11.
But later, the Tigers lost to Sri Lanka in their second Group-B match by six wickets at the same venue on September 13.
On the other hand, Afghanistan had a good start as they beat Hong Kong by 93 runs in their inaugural Group-B match at the same venue on September 9.
Bangladesh gained two points playing two matches.
Sri Lanka, Afghanistan collected two points each from their respective one match.
The Tigers have to beat the Afghans, if they want to reach the ‘Super Four’. If Afghanistan lose to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will confirm their ‘Super Four’ berth.
It is noteworthy that if Bangladesh win against Afghanistan in big margin and if Afghanistan win against Sri Lanka in few margin, the ‘Super Four’ berth will be decided by net run rate.
Now Bangladesh’s net run rate is (-9.650), Sri Lanka’s net run rate is (+2.595) and Afghanistan’s net run rate is (+ 4.700).
