Dhaka Metro win by 7 wkts against Rajshahi

Dhaka Metro posted a seven-wicket win over Rajshahi Division team in their first match of the National Cricket League (NCL) T20 at the Rajshahi Divisional Ground on Sunday.

Chasing Rajshahi Division’s 60 for the loss of three wickets in 5 overs (15 overs were curtailed due to rain), Dhaka Metro romped home making 61 for the loss of three wickets in 4.3 overs.

Mahfijul Islam of Dhaka Metro played the key role to chase Rajshahi’s total hitting an unbeaten 30. He struck four fours and a six in his 12-ball innings.

Shafiqul Islam of Rajshahi captured two wickets conceding 23 runs, while Asaduzzaman Payel took one wicket at the cost of 17 runs.

Earlier, Sabbir Rahman of Rajshahi Division remained unbeaten with 33 runs. His 15-ball innings was belted with three sixes and one four.

Besides, SM Meherob Hasan remained unbeaten with 15 runs. He hit two fours in his nine-ball knock.

Arif Ahmed of Dhaka Metro grabbed two wickets in the space of six runs, while Abu Hider Rony took one wicket giving 22 runs.

Meanwhile, The day’s other match between Sylhet Division team and Rangpur Division team was abandoned due to heavy rain at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.
