Motivated Bangladesh National Cricket team will face off minnows Hong Kong today in their Group-B match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Asia Cup at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates. The game start at 8:30pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Private satellite sports channel T Sports, Sony Sports will telecast the match live. Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das will lead his squad, while Captain of Hong Kong Cricket team Yasim Murtaza will lead his squad.
It is noteworthy that this edition of Asia Cup is going on T20 format, marking the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Earlier, in the year of 2016, 2022 Asia Cup were held on T20 format. Bangladesh became runners-up in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Litton Das said, ” We have not yet clinched the trophy. But it was past history. We want to change the history.”
” We shall try to present better brand of cricket. There will be many challenge but it will not be an easy task. We shall try to improve our position.”
Before coming United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh played three consecutive series against Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Netherlands in three T20I aeries. The tigers won all the T20I series. Bangladesh will be boost up and will get confidence for those victories.
” We have no hurry. We have played good cricket recently. We also took part in a satisfactory training camp before arrived here.”
“I think we are totally prepared for Asia Cup. I think the tournament will be challenging because all teams have got ready.We are ready to face the challenge. We shall give our cent percent effort in the tournament,” he added. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in their second Group-B match on September 13, while the Tigers will play against Afghanistan in their last Group-B match against Afghanistan on September 16.
