Uttara Bank gets new MD

Md. Abul Hashem has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO of the Uttara Bank PLC. Before this appointment, he was the Deputy Managing Director, Head of Treasury and the Chief Anti Money-laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) of the bank, says a press release.

Md. Abul Hashem started his banking career in Uttara Bank PLC as a Probationary Officer in 1997.

In his 28 years’ Banking Career he worked in different statuses in different positions at various departments and divisions of Uttara Bank PLC such as Credit Division, Accounts Department, Reconciliation Department, Recovery Department, Development & Support Department, Card Department, Credit Business Development Department, Asset & Liability Management Department at head office for a long time. . He was awarded the Integrity Reward for the fiscal year 2020-21 in recognition of his contribution to the practice of integrity in the Bank.

Hashem completed his M.S.S degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka. He has also obtained Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).

In his professional career he visited UK, Germany, France, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, Bahrain, Oman, KSA and India to attend official trainings, meetings, seminars & symposiums.
