Prova begins her journey on big screen with 2 films funded by govt

Sadia Jahan Prova started her career in showbiz through modelling in 2006. She started acting with the drama ‘Loss Project’ directed by Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi. After that, Prova was seen in numerous dramas and advertisements.

However, she was not seen in any movie. Finally, she made her name on the big screen for the first time in her two-decade career. Prova is acting in two government-funded movies. One is ‘Dui Paisaar Manush’ directed by Jhumur Asma Jui, and the other is ‘Dena Paona’ by Sadeq Siddiqui.

Earlier this year, while attending an award ceremony, Prova lamented that she had not had good luck in films. Although talks were going on about several films, the projects did not progress to the point of shooting. Prova overcame that regret by acting in two government-subsidised films.

Prova started shooting for the movie ‘Dena Paona’ in Hotapara, Gazipur yesterday. It is being made based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story ‘Dena Paona’ of the same name. Prova will be seen in the role of Nirupama in it. Her co-star is film actor Mamun Hasan Emon.

In the movie ‘Dena Paona’, Emon will play the role of a landlord’s son. He is a magistrate in Kolkata. He is married to Nirupama, a middle-class girl from a village. But Nirupama commits suicide out of shame because her insolvent father cannot pay the dowry.

Before starting the shooting of ‘Dena Paona’, Prova has completed the shooting of the first part of the movie ‘Dui Paisaar Manush’. The story of ‘Dui Paisaar Manush’ is written about the life events and social reality of ordinary people.

The main character of the story will portray various aspects of the struggles, dreams and human relationships of an ordinary person.
Director Jhumur Asma Jui said that the film will not only carry a social message but also entertain the audience. Prova’s co-star in the film ‘Dui Paisaar Manush’ is ABM Suman.

The director said that if everything goes well, the work on the second lot of the film will start from next month.
Regarding her involvement in the two films, Prova said, “I have received offers to act in films before.

But in the end, it didn’t work out. It also happened that after everything was finalised, I dropped out the day before the shooting, and I couldn’t do it because of family reasons.

I was involved in these two films a long time ago. But I didn’t want to tell them because I was afraid. Now, after participating in the shooting, I am sharing the good news with everyone. The audience will see me in two new roles in both films.”
